Chronic tonsilitis


Suffering from inflammation of tonsils once or twice in a year from childhood is chronic tonsilitis.

Types:-

1)Chronic parenchymatous tonsilitis

2)Chronic follicular tonsilitis

Chronic parenchymatous tonsilitis:-

It usually follows an acute or sub-acute attack of tonsilitis or some of the infectious diseases like measles, diptheria common in children between four to fifteen years of age.

Chronic follicular tonsilitis:-

It is common in adults resulting from repeated attacks of acute follicular tonsilitis.

Causes:-

a)Enlarged tonsils, adhesions of the triangular folds and anterior _ pillars.

b)Incomplete removals of tonsils

c)Drinking infected water and milk

d)Seasonal -- common in spring and autumn

e)Haemolytic streptococci are the main infecting organisms. Others are non-haemolytic streptococcus, staphylococcus aureus, pneumococcus

Clinical features:-

a)Repeated sore throats

b)Bad taste from the cheesy matter which collects in the crypts.

c)Halitosis -- unpleasant smell from mouth

d)Frequent gastric upset by swallowing the septic material

e)Systemic upsets -- Fibrositis or other rheumatic manifestations

f)Cervical glands are enlarged and non-tender

g)Discharge of thin creamy pus from the crypts by pressure over anterior pillars

Treatment:-

After proper case-taking, examining and observing the pathological conditions of the patient, the treatment process starts.

Homoeopathic medicines:-

Here I am giving the name of some homoeopathic medicines which are usually prescribed in the case of this disease according to the physical signs and symptoms as usually observed in the case of this disease. However it must be borne in our mind that apart from the physical symptoms there are also some mental symptoms associated with this disease for which I have not mentioned any medicine here. Here a few medicines are given which are most effective such as:-

Aconitum napellus,

Apis mellifica,

Belladonna,

Ignatia amara,

Lachesis,

Silicea etc. Except the above medicines there are many medicines to cure the disease.

Yogapathic Charts:-

Mainly the following asanas may prescribe:-

Pawanamuktasana,

Ardhakurmasana,

Paschimottasana,

Ardhamatsyendrasana

Mahamudra

Meditation:-

Once (minimum 15 minutes) daily.

Diet chart:-

Take juice of pulses, Take purified drinking water, Take nutritious food, Take vitamin rich food. Avoid cold food and drinks, ice cream, cigarette and alcoholic drink. Avoid any type of dairy. Avoid rich and spicy foods, cake and pastry.
